Lesson plan is the compass of successful teaching’

Everyone has adopted the new normal means, students to computers and teachers to online teaching. It’s obvious that teaching methods are more effective and vibrant face to face but the new normal introduced us to online teaching. It’s not about what one is teaching it’s all about how one is teaching and how that is perceived, understood. The foundation for the level of understanding of the concept is laid by a proper lesson plan. Here are few insights about how a lesson plan must be designed keeping in mind the new wave teaching methods. The basic concept of an effective lesson plan is determined by- how effectively the time is used and how much content is learnt by the students?

Keeping the fundamentals aside, the next motto is self-evaluation which includes questions like, what do I want my students to learn? What could be done to instil the concept into their minds? Later, the teacher must also analyse how to proceed forward with the central idea like, stimulate the student’s mind and the materials required.


We must be able to measure the student’s progress with each step or development of an objective. One must also be able to discover the student’s capabilities individually and think of methods to remediate or extend the concepts. The teacher must also focus on how to pitch interest in the students through additional learning activities. It’s also very important to integrate the concept taught in other subject areas for a better understanding and interpretation. Catering to the needs of children with special abilities also plays a pivotal role in determining how good and effective e the lesson plan is.

Putting in a nutshell, lessons and lesson plans can’t be technically designed. They must be practical in these times to enable the child to understand the concept through just an interface of a computer. It must be able to bridge the gap technologically and hypothetically. Talking about reception and adaption, special credits must be given to the teachers who, within no time have familiarised reciprocated and the new teaching methods.
