CLASSROOM INTERACTION PROCEDURE |
PUPIL RESPONSE |
Initial Interaction Teacher
enters the Google meet with a pleasant smile and greets the students. The
teacher establishes a rapport with them though informal interaction. Tr: Good morning dear students. How are you all today? Have you read the paragraphs, we learned
yesterday? Entry
Activity Teacher ask
the students ·
Have you finished the
homework which was given on yesterday? Did you enjoy doing it? ·
What is the headline
given to your Newspaper report? In the previous class we learned
that, Rosa Park was not ready to give up
her seats for any white passenger, even if the bus driver asked her to move
to the back. Then Rosa Park was arrested for breaking the “unjust and unfair
law” and was send to jail. (Teacher shows
an activity of “True or False” in PPT regarding the previously learned
passages) Link
Talk Teacher shows the
name of the lesson on the screen and explains what they learned in the
previous class. Today we will learn
the next paragraphs of the lesson which will tell you more about the
incidents and why Rosa was arrested and sent to jail. Reading
Aloud by the Teacher The teacher shows the
next paragraphs in the PPT and reads it aloud with proper stress, intonation,
pitch and correct pronunciation. Silent reading by the pupil The
teacher asks the students to read the passage silently and to do track
reading by marking √ for interesting facts, * for difficult words. Sharing with peer and pair The
teacher asks the students to mark the difficult words and ask students to
post it in the chat box or to unmute and share it. Glossary Reference Teacher
shows the difficult words and its meaning in the PPT along with contextual
meaning. 1) Spread
(/spred/) - to affect or make something affect
or be used by more and more people Eg: The Corona disease spreads easily. 2) Boycotted– Past form of boycott (/ˈbɔɪkɒt/)-
to
refuse to buy or stopped using something or to
take part in something as a way of protesting. Eg: They
have urged people to boycott foreign products. 3) Segregation (/ˌseɡrɪˈɡeɪʃn/) - the act or policy of separating people
of different races, religions or sexes and treating them in a different way. Eg: The teacher taught that segregation
by age and sex should be stopped. 4) High Court (/ˌhaɪ ˈkɔːt/) - a
court in England and Wales that deals with the most serious civil cases (= not criminal cases) Eg: She was appointed a high court judge in 2018. 5) Transport (/ˈtrænspɔːt/) - a system for carrying people or goods from
one place to other using vehicles, roads, etc. Eg: Radha always depend public transport services
to go to school. Scaffolding Reading Teacher reads the paragraphs and summarises the
major idea and content in the paragraphs. (The paragraphs and related images
are shown in the PPT). The news of Rosa`s arrest soon spread
all over the town............
..................................................................................................... others got
from him to fight for their rights. (Teacher shows a video on the screen about the
story learned in the paragraphs) Scaffolding Questions Teacher
asks certain questions to the students to check their understanding (Shows
the questions in the PPT and later shows the answers later). 1) How
did the black passengers decide to fight for her to come out of jail? 2) How
did the black passengers support the Boycott? 3) What
was the judgement given by the Supreme Court? Discourse Construction ·
Prepare two or three
placards against racism. (Teacher
shows an example of placard for students to write) Teacher`s Version The
last paragraphs described that, Rosa was courageous enough to question an
unjust rule not only for her, but for the whole black community. She is a
representative of the entire African American community. She raised her voice
for the voiceless by breaking the law of segregation. So every black
community stood with her and protested against the law by boycotting the
buses and travelled in shared taxis. And at the end she won the case and was
released from the jail. It
is revealed that if we want to bring a change in society, as Gandhiji said we
should “be the change”. First the change should begin from us. The
segregation law was removed when Rosa decided to bring a change to the system
by breaking the unjust law. Another important thing is, when she protested and went to jail, the
whole black community decided to support her. Which means even if she started
it, the effort of everyone helped to bring a bigger change and hence, the
result became sweeter. (Teacher shows additional informations on the PPT, like when Rosa Park
was died, about a statue built for her and a quote of Rosa that can inspire
students) Review ·
Imagine
that, you are a reporter in a daily and you got a chance to interview Rosa
Parks. What will be the possible questions you will ask her? Follow Up Activity ·
There
are other stories of such courageous men and women who changed the life of
millions. Recollect and write any one of them. |
